Business booming when the trade meets in Göteborg!

The members of SVMF (Swedish Machine Tool Traders’ Association) enjoyed a huge increase in machine tool sales in 2006.
“And we anticipate that the upswing will continue in 2007,” says MD Matts Spångberg, SVMF.
SVMF, which is made up of over 60 companies, accounts for close on 90% of the Swedish market. Member company turnover totals some SEK 3.5 billion.
SVFM members import and supply machine tools, sheet metalworking machines, tools and accessories, testing and measuring equipment and automation/robotic equipment in Sweden.
“Swedish industry has been buying a lot more equipment in the past few years,” says Matts Spångberg. “In 2006 we sold 11% more machines than in 2005, or 17% more in money terms.”
Machinery in the SEK 2-5 million price range accounted for the biggest growth - all of 23%, an increase of 24% in money terms. Tools and accessories increased by 12%.
“It really feels like the wind is blowing our way, and the outlook for Machine Tools 2008 in Göteborg is very good. With so many customers ready to invest in new equipment, the fair is bound to generate lots of business and chalk up a big success.”
